On Saturday April 22, 2023 the Menands Fire Co and Auxiliary held the annual installation dinner at the Italian Community Center. Attendees included Village of Menands officials and members of four fire departments including West Albany, Shaker Rd/Loudonville, Maplewood and Schuyler Heights.
In addition to installing the newly elected officers, multiple awards were given out to member of the department:
Fireman of the Year: Sherri Archambault
Rookie of the Year: Mark Cady
President’s Service Award: Michael Mackay
Special recognition was give to Mayor Megan Grenier for her 18 years of elected service to the Village of Menands. Mayor Grenier served as a trustee for 6 years and Mayor for 12 years. Over her term in office she was supportive of the Fire Department which allowed for the purchase of two trucks and, due to the growth in membership, an upgrade in equipment.
Mayor Grenier also presented proclamations to the Fire Department and Auxiliary recognizing theirs years of service to the Village of Menands.
The Menands Fire Department takes great pride in its service to the community. As an all volunteer department we continue to drill and train our members to be ready when the alarm for assistance sounds.
